What is BAM?
BAM is an art club of creative youth and local artists. We are welcoming and affirming to ALL! During art club, youth listen to music, eat snacks, socialize, and work on art projects with local artists. BAM is not a school; each person is free to choose what they would like to do.
Youth can work on their own art as a creative outlet, participate in art activities such as photo-shoots or painting lessons, or work on a project with a local artist. We spend time together having fun, trying new art styles, and preparing for our youth-led art show!
All art supplies are provided. BAM also offers art supplies for youth to take home. We welcome ALL youth ages 12-21 to come check out BAM. There is no cost, no required commitment, and you do not have to be good at art!
Work with Local Artists
Since 2022, 65 youth have been involved in BAM and over 35 local professionals have worked with youth in many areas including: Photography, Painting, Drawing, Jewelry Design, Digital Illustration, Merchandising, Screen Printing, Fashion and Marketing.
Participate in Art Shows
Each season (Fall and Summer) youth at BAM plan and produce an art show. In the past, BAM youth have created a fashion show, a visual art display, and performed a skit. This is a youth-led program so it’s up to the teens to decide what this year’s art show will be!
Opportunities to gain life & business skills
There are plenty of chances for youth to sell their art or make money with their art skills with the support of BAM artists.
Youth have gained business and life skills through experience representing & selling their work at local festivals, markets and youth-led art shows. Youth have participated in internships, art commissions, murals, radio interviews, art contests, art exhibits and recently went on-stage with ArtRageous at the Avalon Theater!
